L’ambassadeur Fitrell a rencontré les anciens de Timbo pour discuter de l’héritage important du Prince Abd al Rahman Ibrahima et pour renforcer les relations solides entre les États-Unis et la communauté historique de Timbo. Le prince Ibrahima a été capturé pendant une guerre et vendu comme esclave en 1788. Il est arrivé dans une plantation à Natchez, dans l’État du Mississippi, en 1790. Libéré en 1828 grâce à l’intercession du secrétaire d’État américain de l’époque, Henry Clay, il est retourné au Fouta Djallon avec sa famille. Ambassador Fitrell met with the Elders of Timbo to discuss the important legacy of prince Abd al Rahman Ibrahima and to build on the strong relationship between the United States and the historic community of Timbo. Prince Ibrahima was captured during war and sold into slavery in 1788, arriving at a plantation in Natchez, Mississippi in 1790. Freed in 1828 through the intercession of then U.S. Secretary of State Henry Clay, he returned home to the Fouta Djallon with his family. Prince Ibrahima’s remarkable story continues to inspire us today. #AmbFitrell #USinGuinea
