Des descendants du prince Abdul Rahman de Timbo se sont rendus aux États-Unis pour célébrer le 197e anniversaire de son émancipation, à l’occasion de la journée Abdul Rahman dans le Mississippi.
Ce voyage a permis d’honorer l’héritage du prince et de favoriser de riches échanges éducatifs et culturels. Le Haut Conseil des anciens de Timbo (Guinée) et la Maison royale officielle de Sori (États-Unis) ont organisé la visite, qui comprenait des événements à Natchez, dans le Mississippi, et à Hartford, dans le Connecticut.
Les descendants de John Cox et de Thomas Gallaudet, qui se sont battus pour libérer Abdul et son épouse Isabella de l’esclavage, ont participé à la commémoration. Eric Hearst, de la Center Church, s’est également joint aux commémorations dans le Mississippi et le Connecticut pour rappeler le soutien de son église au prince Abdul Rahman.

Descendants of Prince Abdul Rahman of Timbo visited the United States to mark the 197th anniversary of his emancipation on Abdul Rahman Day in Mississippi.
The journey honored the prince’s legacy, fostering rich educational and cultural exchanges. The High Council of Timbo Elders (Guinea) and The Official Royal House of Sori (USA), organized the visit, which included events in Natchez, Mississippi and Hartford, Connecticut.
Descendants of John Cox and Thomas Gallaudet, who fought to free Abdul and his wife Isabella from slavery, participated in the commemoration. Dr. Eric Hearst of Center Church also joined the commemorations in Mississippi and Connecticut to remember his church’s support for Prince Abdul Rahman.
